There can be nothing more heartbreaking than to experience the sudden, unexplained death of an apparently healthy newborn or very young baby. The medical establishment seems to have no idea what causes it; infants suddenly die in their sleep, with no warning. The number of babies dying from unexplained causes in England and Wales has risen for the first time in three years. Figures from the Office for National Statistics (ONS) show there were 219 deaths caused by Sudden Infant Death Syndrome (SIDS) or without a known cause in 2016. This was up from 195 the previous year.
REASON KNOWN FOR DECADES
Meanwhile, the key cause of this syndrome and how to avoid it has been known for decades. It has been proved time and time again but the concept has been either deliberately ignored or dismissed by many members of the medical profession as not plausible. Joseph G. Hattersley M.A., in his dissertation ‘The Answer to Crib Death –Sudden Infant Death Syndrome (SIDS)’ explained ‘contrary to the official line, there is a preventive for crib death and has been known for more than 40 years. It costs only pennies a day. Two pioneering doctors on opposite sides of the globe - unknown to each other - arrived at the same formula for eradicating among their patients’ families this tragedy, which young mothers tell me is their worst fear.’ COURAGEOUS BATTLE AGAINST MEDICAL OPPOSITION The two doctors to which Hattersley refers are Kalokerinos and Klenner. In Australia, Dr. Kalokerinos and his partner Glen Dettman, a distinguished biomedical scientist with expertise in microbiology, came to the same conclusion that SIDS occurs because of a deficiency of ascorbate, also known as vitamin C. They did their study without research funding or publicity, constantly harassed and opposed by prevailing medicine, their manuscripts rejected by mainline medical journals. Dr. Kalokerinos was determined to reduce the rate of SIDS among the aboriginal people, many of whom were his patients, which was a shocking 50 percent in the 1950s and 1960s. He had noted that almost all of the victims were severely deficient in vitamin C. On the other side of the world, Frederick R. Klenner of Reidsville, North Carolina, USA used ascorbic acid to virtually banish infant mortality after supervising hundreds of births between the late 1940s and the 1970s. In each case, the medical community was unreceptive to what Klenner and Kalokerinos saw first-hand in their practices.
SHOCKING SLAUGHTER ALLOWED TO CONTINUE In 1978, Dr. Irwin Stone, a pioneer in vitamin C research, also reported that SIDS was in fact, a result of chronic sub-clinical scurvy, in other words a vitamin C deficiency. In his book, ‘The Healing Factor. Vitamin C against Disease’, Stone wrote ‘It has been shown to be a manifestation of infantile scurvy, due to the fact that all infants, born of mothers who depended solely on their diet as their only source of ascorbate, are born with the Chronic Sub-clinical Scurvy syndrome after nine months of intrauterine scurvy. SIDS can be prevented by increasing the infant's intake of ascorbate. This has been known and published since 1977. Yet worldwide 8,000 to 10,000 babies die of SIDS each year because the doctors and others involved with the management of these babies permit this annual slaughter to take place because they have become so complacent with scurvy that they refuse to even try this harmless treatment.’ |
GENE THERAPY NOT THE ANSWER
Obsessed with gene therapy, researchers and scientists are racing hell for leather looking for a faulty gene as the culprit. Vast sums of money are invested in exciting new ideas associated with gene therapy while at the same time the impressive results of doctors, such as Klenner, Kalokerinos and Stone, have largely been ignored. This has greatly hindered further research into SIDS. CASES OF SIDS DROP TO ZERO Part of the trouble has been the supposed link with SIDS and vaccinations. Dr. Kalokerinos made it clear that he was not opposed to vaccination but pointed out that to vaccinate an infant already suffering from sub-clinical scurvy was to introduce a further stress on its already ascorbic depleted system, and that is why they suddenly die. After supplementing with ascorbic acid, before and after vaccination, the incidence of SIDS fell to zero. Even a single dose of vitamin C, given before the injections, can still have a significant beneficial effect. Jonathan Campbell, Health Consultant, explained ‘Their little bodies have very little reserves to draw upon. Without sufficient vitamin C, their immune systems and arteries are fragile. A single stressful event, a minor fall, a vaccination, a toxic exposure, or a simple virus or bacterial illness could tip the balance and kill them. Metabolic failure, heart failure, toxic trauma to vital organs, haemorrhage - it could happen dozens of ways. Sudden death, with no warning; SIDS’.
SIDS REDUCED WITH DELAYED VACCINATION In 1988, the Japanese government began recommending that children should not be vaccinated until the age of two and straight away the number of infants dying from SIDS plummeted and there was also a dramatic decline in adverse side effects to the vaccinations. A few years later the decision was reversed. The government recommended that vaccinations should be administered at three months and inevitably, cases of SIDS then returned. MEDICAL ESTABLISHMENT MUST BE MADE TO LISTEN Campbell laments ‘Here we are, forty years after two courageous doctors found the root cause - and cure - for SIDS. Tens of thousands of infants have died unnecessarily, and more infant deaths seem inevitable. These are tragic deaths that were and are totally preventable. But doctors all over the world are still looking for an elusive cause, there are hundreds of SIDS research sites and support networks, and no one is talking about the vitamin C connection or doing anything about it, with the exception of a few doctors who have been using large-dose vitamin C for years. The medical establishment just refuses to believe that this syndrome could be caused by a simple nutrient deficiency.’ |
